Challenge

Digitas set out to redesign American Express' credit card application to make the process quicker and more user-friendly.

My role

I worked with the client to understand the business needs, and combined this understanding with user needs to create the final design. I created wireframes for 3 initial concepts, which we refined over many iterations to the final set of wireframes.

Highlights

In the final version, contextual help for each of the fields explains anything the user might need more information about. All errors are checked in real time, providing instant feedback.

The application feels easy because it fits on a single page - you can complete it more quickly, and your expectations for its length are immediately set.

This application was released for just one card as a test. Drop-off rates were significantly lower than with the original version. The design is currently being rolled out accross the rest of the site.
