Challenge

For my class "Programming Usable Interfaces," we were asked to build a Flash application which displayed useful information on any topic. I chose to create this Recipe Finder to help a non-expert cook find just the right recipe when he or she needs it.

My role

I designed and built this prototype using Flash, and conducted informal usability testing to iterate on the design.

Highlights

I conducted three rounds of user testing with 3 to 5 participants per round. These participants were random people found in coffee shops and other stores. Each person was asked to do a few basic tasks with the Recipe Finder, followed by a brief interview. Based on this data, I made improvements to the interface after each round of testing.
